Among the hundreds of other things I do, the one thing that I truly enjoy is training young couples as pioneer native missionaries. Currently I have six couples under my tutelage. This work is above and beyond my regular Bible School work. These are handpicked couples invited to participate in an intensive (almost 24 hour a day) hands-on regiment of preparation for the ministry. Although I do not expect all six couples to “make it”, there is hope, I think for most of them.
But the question I always ask myself “is six enough?“.
It seems that so much remains to be done in the Kingdom before He returns and I am working with just six couples!
I guess my answer to my own question is that nowadays it is very hard to find someone (anyone!) willing to drop EVERYTHING and fully dedicate themselves to the Lord! To walk away from a good job, a nice cozy home to venture into an unknown world of drifting souls? Definitely not for the fainthearted!
Which all brings me back to the old, but true saying: “little is much, if God is in it!“.
I’ll be back Monday.
